The systems I had time to test so far for MDS on/off (with HT active throughout) were a Xeon E3-1275 v6, Core i7 8700K, Core i9 7980XE, and Core i9 9900K for a mix of newer systems. Additional systems continue to be tested.

The MDS mitigations do affect some I/O workloads though not as much as some of the other mitigations we've seen over the past year and a half.

The t-test1 memory allocator benchmark did see another slowdown from these latest CPU side-channel vulnerabilities.

The Sockperf socket benchmark was also several percent slow with the MDS mitigations.

The Ethr network benchmark when testing the TCP latency on the local host did see around 1ms higher latency with the MDS mitigations.
