Like the Shadow of the Tomb Raider results, Total War: Three Kingdoms as another Linux game port by Feral Interactive saw the GeForce RTX 4080 matching the Radeon RX 7900 XTX performance while the GeForce RTX 4090 was pacing more than 40% faster than those graphics cards. If you can afford it, the GeForce RTX 4090 is a hell of a powerful graphics card.

Just for tossing in Metro Last Light Redux for a Linux-native game that makes use of OpenGL, the NVIDIA graphics cards were at an advantage over the Radeon cards and their current open-source Linux graphics driver stack.

The Mesa RADV Vulkan driver has made much progress in the Radeon Vulkan ray-tracing support over the past few months. But for those heavily interested in ray-traced games using Vulkan or mapped over from D3D12 Windows games with VKD3D-Proton, the NVIDIA graphics cards with their proprietary driver stack still dominate for the Linux ray-tracing performance.
