NVIDIA's Jetson AGX Xavier Carmel Performance vs. Low-Power x86 Processors
While the per-core performance of the Carmel cores might not be as great as newer U-series Intel CPU cores, having eight Carmel cores really allow the Xavier SoC to perform very well in threaded workloads compared to Intel's 10~15 Watt x86_64 offerings tested.
The generational leap in performance from the Jetson TX2 to AGX Xavier is certainly fascinating on the CPU side, as well as with the earlier GPU/compute benchmarks.
