If taking the geometric mean for all of the Linux gaming/graphics benchmarks carried out for this seven way GPU comparison, the RTX 3080 comes to being 18% faster than the TITAN RTX and 48% faster than the RTX 2080 SUPER or nearly double that of the Radeon RX 5700 XT. There is no question about it the GeForce RTX 3080 delivers exceptional performance especially at $699 USD. The RTX 3080 Linux support is in great shape as long as you don't mind using the proprietary NVIDIA graphics driver as currently there is no open-source driver support.

Here are the GPU power consumption metrics over the entire span of testing all the games. The GeForce RTX 3080 had an average power consumption of 258 Watts with a peak of 322 Watts where as the TITAN RTX had a 235 Watt average and 296 Watt peak. The Radeon VII meanwhile had a 174 Watt peak with a peak of 297 Watts. While the RTX 3080 is pulling more power than the Turing parts tested, the performance-per-Watt across the games tested ranged from being comparable to Turing to slightly ahead.

The GeForce RTX 3080 Founder's Edition for the entire span of testing saw a 68 degree average and a peak of 75 degrees, which came out better than the RTX 2080 Ti / RTX 2080 / TITAN RTX graphics cards as well as the RX 5700 XT.

Those are the most interesting metrics for this article while the second half is a larger comparison with the entire RTX 20 series line-up as well as more AMD Navi graphics cards for reference in less demanding scenarios.
