Running Radeon RX Vega On Linux 4.15, NVIDIA/Radeon Benchmarks
Besides some possible DC display code regressions, right now Linux 4.15 does cause some AMDGPU gaming performance regressions. Due to this, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was among the games not tested for this round of benchmarking and so it's a smaller comparison than usual.
First up with Dota 2 on OpenGL, the RX Vega performance does look to be slightly regressed compared to some of our previous benchmarks. The RX Vega cards are running at around the speed of the R9 Fury and in turn the RX 580 is also running slower than the GeForce GTX 1060.
Dota 2 with Vulkan is also much slower on all tested Radeon GPUs than even the GeForce GTX 1060. RADV tends to perform less than the mature and well-optimized RadeonSI driver, but has been getting into serious shape in recent months.
Dawn of War 3 with Vulkan is also looking like there may indeed be a AMDGPU performance regression with Linux 4.15... These numbers are not being very competitive at all.
