With Tellusim's GravityMark there were slight advantages to the GNOME Wayland session as seen with both the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and the GeForce RTX 4080.

For most games on Linux though there was minimal difference between the two sessions with GNOME 44.1 on Ubuntu 23.04.

The most notable exception remains with DiRT Rally 2.0 running on Linux via Steam Play. DiRT Rally 2.0 with the AMD Radeon open-source driver stack continues to perform much worse running under the GNOME Wayland session while runs fine with the GNOME X.Org session. This is something I've seen with various Radeon GPUs and different configurations for months.
