AMD Makes A Compelling Case For Budget-Friendly Ryzen Dedicated Servers
For Zstd data compression, AMD managed to take the top spots with the Ryzen 9 5950X coming out slightly ahead of the Xeon E-2388G for data compression.
However, when it comes to the decompression speed that doesn't efficiently leverage as many cores, the Xeon E-2386G/E-2388G did come out ahead of the Zen 3 processors -- should you be doing a lot of data decompression.
For other data compression/decompression algorithms and levels it all comes down to how threaded or not it is for whether the AMD Ryzen processors make a compelling case over the Xeon E-2300 series otherwise the Intel Rocket Lake processors do perform very well and their slight advantage on the boost clock speed comes into play.
