AMD Radeon R9 285 Tonga Performance On Linux
A USB-based WattsUp Pro power meter was communicating with the Phoronix Test Suite for monitoring the overall AC system power consumption during our Linux benchmarking.
The Radeon R9 285 had an average system power draw of 226 Watts while running Unigine Valley. The peak was at 241 Watts or down to 72 Watts when initially idling. These power figures come out slightly ahead of the GeForce GTX 760.
When generating the performance-per-Watt data for the Unigine Valley 1920 x 1080 run, the R9 285 is in line with the other Radeon GPUs on Catalyst but they're all behind the NVIDIA Linux results.
