GCC 4.9 vs. GCC 5.3 vs. GCC 6.1 On A Debian Xeon E5 Linux System

With many of our usual C/C++ compiler test suspects, there isn't a whole lot of difference when using these same basic compiler flags. In a future article will also be some fresh LTO/IPO tests of GCC 6 where there had been a lot of development focus recently.

Overall, the performance of GCC 6.1 appears to be in good shape with at least no glaring regressions so far...
