GCC 4.9 vs. GCC 5.3 vs. GCC 6.1 On A Debian Xeon E5 Linux System
The results for this comparison weren't hugely interesting, but shows largely the same level of performance with GCC 6.1 as under GCC 5.3. There at least though were no major runtime regressions although the compiler speed is slower than GCC4/GCC5. Stay tuned for the various other mentioned compiler tests that will be forthcoming on Phoronix.
