The Himeno Poisson Pressure Solver is one of the few tests where GCC 6.1.0 is significantly faster than earlier versions of the GNU Compiler Collection.

When it comes to measuring the compilation/build time, GCC 6.1 is noticeably slower than GCC 4.9 and GCC 5.3. Though this is largely due to new optimizations and other functionality being introduced during the compile process in order to benefit greater performance/security/other-features of the generated code.

No major breakthroughs short of Himeno.
