For scripting with the R statistical computing language, Python, and PHP, the Core i7-1065G7 continued to yield measurably better performance over the Core i7-8565U and Core i7-8550U.

The socket activity performance is much better with the Stress-NG kernel micro-benchmark, thanks to Intel's continued work on hardware-based mitigations for the various speculative execution vulnerabilities.

The ctx-clock is the most dramatic improvement with this simple test measuring the time to perform a context switch. Due to Ice Lake's hardware mitigations, the time needed to perform a context switch is vastly reduced. The Ice Lake context switching performance is far better than we have seen out of the earlier *lakes even without their software mitigations enabled.
