With the SVT-AV1 video encoder, it depended upon the encode settings for whether the Core i9 13900K could outpace the Ryzen 9 7950X.

With the SVT-HEVC H.265 video encoder, the Core i9 13900K was able to pull ahead of the Ryzen 9 7950X for the Intel-developed open-source video encoders.

Intel's SVT-VP9 encoder was also the fastest with the Core i9 13900K.

But on a performance-per-Watt basis in these SVT video encode tests, the Core i9 13900K was still generally drawing more power and with its wins only came out to around similar power efficiency to Zen 4.

With the Kvazaar open-source H.265 encoder, the Core i9 13900K was running behind the Ryzen 9 7950X.

In the AOM-AV1, x265, and libvpx VP9 encoders, Zen 4 was racking up some wins.
