12-Way AMD Catalyst 14.12 vs. NVIDIA 346 Series Linux GPU Comparison

The NVIDIA hardware remained doing comparatively better than the AMD Radeon hardware with Catalyst 14.12. The R9 290 was just a few frames per second faster than the GeForce GTX 680. The GeForce GTX 970 was 23% faster than the Radeon R9 290.

Catalyst 14.12 handled running Warsow fine and the Radeon R9 290 performance came up just shy of the modern, high-end NVIDIA GPUs.

Xonotic with ultra image quality settings showed the Radeon R9 290 performing just under the GeForce GTX 760.
