For 7-Zip compression performance, Clear Linux was running well ahead of Windows 10 Pro in second place followed by the assortment of other platforms and then Ubuntu 18.04 LTS in last.

Ubuntu 18.04 continued running quite poorly on this MacBook Pro, including in the Stockfish chess engine benchmark.

When it came to timed code compilation, Fedora Workstation 28 secured a slight victory though was effectively tied with openSUSE Tumbleweed. To no surprise, WSL with its slow I/O implementation was in last while macOS on APFS came in third.

Clear Linux was the fastest with C-Ray ray-tracing while Ubuntu 18.04 was by far the slowest for this multi-threaded test.

MacOS secured another narrow victory with the Primesieve prime number generator test.
