The OCZ Vector 150 was running decent compared to the other tested consumer-grade solid-state drives used for this round of Linux benchmarking. The OCZ Vector 150 with EXT4 and the Linux 3.18 kernel was running very well when it came to the write performance -- both sequential and random workloads -- except its read performance is where the Vector 150 VTR150-25SAT3-120G felt like it was running behind the competition.

When snatching the 120GB SSD for under $60 USD, the performance was certainly worthwhile and a great drive backed by a five year warranty. At around $100 for a 120GB SSD when not on sale, it's on the pricier side and a bit harder to justify, but could be a good fit if you're looking for a SSD backed by a five-year warranty and are mostly concerned about write performance. At the time of writing though, Amazon.com is selling this SSD for just over $80.

Feel free to see how your own Linux system's performance stacks up to the drives used in this review by installing the Phoronix Test Suite and running phoronix-test-suite benchmark 1412040-LI-SSDTESTIN50.
