Well, that's the current state of affairs when testing a number of different graphics cards this week on the open-source Intel/Nouveau/Radeon drivers with Linux 4.1 Git, Mesa 10.7-devel, and LLVM 3.7. If you didn't read the proprietary driver comparison from earlier this week, check it out.

The open-source AMD driver performance overall was good: the performance and quality of the driver continues to improve, especially over the past several months. For many Phoronix readers, they're happily gaming with the RadeonSI/R600g drivers albeit not all of the latest Steam Linux games will work due to lack of OGL4 compliance and other glitches. Coming up in the next few days will be a historical look at the open-source AMD Linux driver performance.
