AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT Linux Performance
With the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme build that is native for Linux and rendered using Vulkan, we see the Radeon RX 7600 XT at 1080p is around 9% faster than the RX 7600 8GB graphics card. The Radeon RX 7600 XT was coming in just ahead of the GeForce RTX 4060.
On a performance-per-Watt basis the RDNA2/RDNA3 graphics cards are still in the same ballpark for power efficiency while the RTX 4080/4090 led. Unfortunately the GPU power consumption reporting was not working for the RTX 4060 graphics card tested.
3DMark Wild Life at 1440p saw the RX 7600 XT continuing to run just in front of the GeForce RTX 4060 while delivering modest gains over the prior generation RX 6600 XT and the RX 7600 sibling.
When running DiRT Rally 2.0 on Linux via Steam Play the Radeon RX 7600 XT 16GB was running comfortably at around 127 FPS compared to the RX 7600 at 115 FPS. The RX 7600 XT was around 12% faster than the GeForce RTX 4060 for this racing game.
A bit surprising to see the Radeon RX 6600 XT delivering better performance-per-Watt over the tested XFX RX 7600 XT.
When upping DiRT Rally 2.0 to 2880 x 1620, the RX 7600 XT was running at just under a 100 FPS average while still delivering healthy gains over the RTX 4060. The RTX 4060 is priced in the $300~320 range compared to the Radeon RX 7600 XT $329 SEP.
