The Blender 2.80 performance on the Ryzen 5 3400G when running on the 4c/8t APU is slightly ahead of the Ryzen 5 2400G. The 2400G has a 3.6GHz base frequency and 3.9GHz boost frequency compared to the 3400G at 3.7GHz and 4.2GHz, respectively. As a reminder, the Ryzen 5 3400G is based on Zen+ rather than Zen 2 so the likes of the Ryzen 7 3600X offer much better CPU performance.

In these CPU heavy benchmarks, the Picasso Zen+ APU was generally beat out by the Core i5 9400F Coffeelake CPU that costs $150~170 USD to the Ryzen 5 3400G at $149.

It will be really exciting once Zen 2 APUs are released as we see the gains made by the likes of the 3600X/3700X/3900X.
