Examination:

The ASUS VH236H monitor simply looks like most other 23-inch and 24-inch monitors in its class. The screen itself on this monitor is not very reflective or glossy like some, but the plastic bezel and stand for this monitor are very reflective with its glossy piano-black finish.

There are six buttons for this LCD monitor and they are positioned in the lower right hand corner. These buttons can be used for toggling the on-screen display, volume, and selecting between the three video inputs. There are dual two Watt speakers integrated into this monitor, but from the front, they actually appear hidden. While the ASUS VH236HL-P provides height, swivel, and tilt adjustment support with its stand, the VH236H does not. The ASUS VH236H is limited to being tilt five degrees forward and 20 degrees backwards. The stand for this monitor does have a hole in it for cable management purposes.

The base of this monitor is not purely plastic but there is some metal, though the stand connects to the base via sliding down onto two plastic clips. For those not looking to use the stand, the VH236H does have a standard 100 x 100mm VESA wall mount. A Kensington security lock can also be found on this LCD monitor for ensuring its security.

At the back of the monitor are the one AC power input, HDMI input, DVI input, VGA input, one analog audio input, and one S/PDIF audio input. The VH236H allows the user to easily switch between the three video inputs.
