Ubuntu 20.04 + Linux 5.5: Fresh Benchmarks Of AMD EPYC Rome vs. Intel Xeon Cascade Lake

AMD EPYC 7002 series does particularly well for code compilation thanks to the higher core/thread counts.

The tested Cascade Lake CPUs did pick up a rare win with the MySQL/MariaDB performance.

But the EPYC 7402 and EPYC 7502 were delivering better performance-per-Watt over Xeon for MariaDB.

PostgreSQL 12 continues performing very well though on the AMD EPYC 7002 series.

Especially in the performance-per-Watt with these 7nm server CPUs.

The EPYC 7002 series tested on Ubuntu 20.04 also continued running much faster than Cascade Lake for Facebook's RocksDB workload.
