NVIDIA RTX 30 Series vs. AMD Radeon Linux Gaming Performance For April 2021

While Strange Brigade has worked fine with RADV in the past, this Steam Play title with native Vulkan support was failing to run with Mesa's RADV driver as tested for this article.

The Talos Principle as the original Vulkan launch game could easily run fine with any of the tested RTX 30 and RDNA2 graphics cards at 4K.

For Total War: Three Kingdoms the NVIDIA performance had the upper-hand unlike some of the other Linux games where the Radeon performance with RADV on Linux came out rather strong. The RX 6800 XT at least was still pacing with the RTX 3080 and the RX 6700 XT just behind the RTX 3060 Ti.

With the high quality visuals for Total War: Three Kingdoms at 4K, this Linux-native Vulkan-rendered game could only run above a 60 FPS average with the GeForce RTX 3090.
