Intel Core i7 1280P "Alder Lake P" Linux Laptop Performance

With the Coremark benchmark popular with embedded processors, the Core i7 1280P performance nearly matched the year-old Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U. On a performance-per-Watt basis the Ryzen 5 5500U had a sizable advantage followed by the 5850U and 4700U.

Many different benchmarks were run on these laptops with Linux from the Stargate digital audio workstation software to chess benchmarks to VoIP libraries and dozens of real-world applications. Most commonly the Core i7 1280P within the MSI notebook was performing similar to the HP Dev One with the mature Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U.
