First up is looking at the Core i5 10600K / Core i9 10900K versus Core i5 11600K / Core i9 11900K Linux graphics performance. Tests were done on Ubuntu 21.04 with the Linux 5.12 Git kernel and Mesa 21.1-devel. Given no access to Ryzen 4000 series desktop APUs, this graphics comparison is just looking at Gen9 versus Gen12 prior to looking at the Linux gaming dGPU performance across many CPUs.

Right away we were seeing the performance wins in Intel desktop CPUs finally replacing the Skylake-era Gen9 graphics with the modern Gen12 Xe Graphics.

For those making use of Intel integrated graphics, the shift to Gen12 is great and long overdue. The OpenGL and Vulkan performance is much improved compared to Gen9.
