Intel Core i5 11600K + Core i9 11900K Linux Performance Across ~400 Benchmarks

In addition to the much better OpenGL and Vulkan graphics performance with Rocket Lake, the OpenCL compute performance is similarly much improved over prior Intel desktop processors. When running the latest Intel Compute Runtime open-source stack for OpenCL (and oneAPI Level Zero), the Rocket Lake support was working well and fast.

When taking the geometric mean of all the Gen9/Gen12 graphics and compute benchmarks carried out, Rocket Lake was a big improvement compared to Comet Lake. Going from the Core i5 10600K to Core i9 11900K yielded a 39% improvement in the open-source iGPU performance while going from the Core i9 10900K to Core i9 11900K was a 37% improvement. Very good showing out of the Intel Gen12 graphics on Linux at launch. It's too bad Intel wasn't able to move past Gen9 graphics on the desktop years ago but in any case great to see Rocket Lake now delivering Gen12 to the desktop. Further gaming tests and other benchmarks with the Xe Graphics will be coming up on Phoronix shortly, but for now let's move on with the rest of the benchmarks.
